Sansevieria ‘Fernwood Mikado’ is a compact hybrid with slim, point leaves. This plant is almost indestructible, so easy to grow and care for and suitable for people who love separate modern forms. Sanseveria is also an air-purifying plant and improves the humidity and creates a healthy atmosphere for the body and soul.
Plant is 10″ tall from pot, 15″ tall overall, comes in a 5” nursery pot.
Water: underwater is better than overwater
About every 2 weeks but better to use the dipping finger technique. Dip your finger one inch deep into the soil. If the soil feels dry, it’s time to water. Make sure to water until it runs out of the pot’s bottom drain holes and discard any excess water in the saucer. Avoid keeping the soil overly moist or rot can occur. Only water again when soil is dry.
Light: medium to bright indirect
Thrives in medium to bright indirect light, but can tolerate some direct light if it’s not too hot.
Soil & Repotting: good drainage
Once your Sansevieria’s roots have filled the existing pot and grow out the bottom of the pot, re-pot to the next size container. Use any all-purpose or tropical soil mixture with good drainage. Choose a pot that has drip holes at the bottom.
Temperature: normal room temperature
It thrives at normal room temperatures from 60 to 85°F.
If you want the plant to grow and develop new shoots, place it in a bright spot and add a low concentration of fertilizer when watering in the summer months.
