In their native habitat, Begonia Rex is understory plants in shady to partially shady areas of jungles and considered tropical and subtropical plants.

Water: consistency is key
Dip your finger one inch deep into the soil. If the soil feels dry, it’s time to water. Make sure to water until it runs out of the pot’s bottom drain holes and discard any excess water in the saucer. Avoid keeping the soil overly moist or rot can occur and don’t allow the soil to get so dry the Rex begonia wilts. So you will probably have to water weekly, especially during the growing season
Light: medium to bright light
Begonia Rex will thrive in a bright light condition. The plant will be happy next to east or west-facing windows or a south-facing window with a couple of hours of direct sunlight a day.
Soil & Repotting: good drainage
Once your Begonia’s roots have filled the existing pot, re-pot to the next size container. Use any all-purpose or tropical soil mixture with good drainage. Choose a pot that has drip holes at the bottom.
Temperature: 60-85°F
Begonia Rex performs best with indoor temperatures ranging between 60°F to 85°F (15-29°C). Keep the plant away from drafts to avoid damage to the leaves.
Fertilizer: 20-20-20
Feed once every two weeks during the growing season
(April-September) using a liquid all-purpose fertilizer 20-20-20 diluted to half strength. Fertilizer is not required from November to February but can be fed once every two months.

This little guy came very well packaged. It is always a challenge when sending plants in the mail. He is a little smaller than I expected, and most of the leaves looked super sad. I am hoping he bounces back and makes an amazing recovery! I also tried to access the listing for care instructions after purchase, but I kept getting a notification that it wasn’t available. I wanted to make sure he had the correct care immediately to make sure I didn’t kill him once repotted :/ I cut off the sad leaves, and left me with a few healthy ones.
